One of the most accomplished American Masters wrestlers training and competing right now is Dr. Petros Petrosyan.
One of the most decorated U.S. Masters Wrestlers training and competing today is Dr. Petros Petrosyan.
Coach Petrosyan is in charge of all OCG coaches' technical instruction.
At the U.S. OPEN in April 2023, he won gold medals by dominating every opponent in the Greco-Roman and Freestyle events. He did not concede any points to a rival throughout Greco-Roman. Dr. Petrosyan won GOLD at the 2022 UWW Masters & Veterans Worlds on October 5th in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He is also a two-time UWW World Gold Medalist in Freestyle.

Petros was born in Vanadzor a small city in central Armenia. Vanadzor is a spectacular city full of nature; it is in a valley and has three rivers running through. Petros spent most of his time in the wild in the forests running, skiing, and training. The city was a big factor in Petros’ early career as the city had a strong, multi-generational wrestling culture, similar to how Americans view our Football. Petros in his youth began to train at a large wrestling academy and excelled and even now this academy is still running and Petros will visit yearly and bring new wrestling equipment for the students.
Unlike in the U.S.A., in the eastern European educational system one can pursue a university to receive a degree in Sports Coaching & Training. Coach Petrosyan started this education in this area in 1980 and received his Masters in 1984 from Vanadzor State University and later PhD in Physical Training with a specialization in Wrestling, from Moscow State Academy in 1998. The full name of the institute whe re he received his PhD from is the: Russian State Academy of Physical Training, Moscow.
During his competitive younger years Petros trained with, befriended and competed on the same teams the best wrestlers in both Armenia and USSR, notables such as Anatoli and Sergei Belaglazov (video), Stepan Sarkissian (video), and Martin Berberyan (more info).

US Open Masters National Champion : 10 times (8 x Freestyle & 2x Greco)
First Place at UWW World Veterans Championship: 2016
Second Place at UWW World Veterans Championship: 2021
Third Place at UWW World Veterans Championship 2-times
Dr. Petrosyan is currently training for the 2023 UWW World Championships in in Greco-Roman & Freestyle.
Dr. Petrosyan has coached a number of current athletes to the national and international levels of competition and a few are currently on World Teams.

1) Private lessons can be booked in advance. Just fill-out the PRIVATE LESSON SIGN-UP FORM below. You will be called within 48 hours by tel# 714-325-8462, to confirm. Do not ignore the call. You may also call us after you fill-out the form below to let us know you’re ready to go!
2) To keep organization smoothest it’s best to schedule your ‘privates’ at the same time each week and stay consistent.
3) ALL CANCELLATIONS or RESCHEDULES should be done OUTSIDE of the 24-hour time window prior to the lesson time & date to avoid being charged for the full cost of the lesson. If a PRIVATE needs to be cancelled, both call and text us at 714-325-8462 (no exceptions).

1. All PRIVATES can be paid in CASH at the time of the practice session directly to the COACH, UNLESS otherwise requested.
